I have to be honest, I didn't expect to like this book. its not anything like I normally read.That being said, I REALLY REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK !!! I had a hard time putting it down. Its a very smooth read. There is no confusion or craziness .... This debut author definitely had this handled and it was a pleasure to read and I really really enjoyed it.
I usually like sex in my books... (yeah I know, I'm a perv) I rarely read books without some mattress time, or wall time or shower time ..... This really didn't need it. I was completely surprised that the book just didn't need it. That's not to say that I don't need it, but the book, held up fine all on its own.
The book was very well written, The characters are well thought out and written and Imogen is a riot. I hate most women in books but you cant hate her at all. Shes funny, upbeat, silly, smart and beautiful......and she isn't at all what you would expect.
I love Mr. Darcy and Cleo and even Bernie ....
Rice and Calder are both pretty damn sexy but I think I'm kinda loving Calder a little more .... I'm going to have to get back to you on those two, i just need more of both sexy boys ....
All the side characters are awesome. There is nothing not to love about them.
Im a little confused by the ending ..... to me that is a cliffie..... and i really need to know more so please tell me shes coming back and we get to see what happens with Rice and Calder ?
I would absolutely recommend this book

This was a great read by a new author! I loved the MC, Immogen, she was sassy and full of spunk, very unpredictable. I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I first started reading this and then BAM out of no where came a major twist and we were thrown right into things. The author did a very good job of making you love BOTH male characters and I'm still really not sure who I'm rooting for. Can't wait for the next book!
The beginning started a little slow for me personally but I kept with it and I'm really glad I did because I wasn't able to guess what was coming up next and the story isn't like one I've read before. All fantastic things! I loved Mr. Darcy and the unique aspects wove into making this book stand out which made the story has stick with me which also speaks volumes! I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next. -Sammie Sidelinger
This story is told sort of tongue in cheek style, with each major character telling it from his or her perspective. It is not a style I prefer, but in this case it worked. While there was not a conclusive ending where boy gets girl, we are left with the feeling there is more to come perhaps in book 2.

Ok, so in the beginning, I was not sure I was going to like this book. Its a bit of a slow start, and then a slightly unbelieveable plot (her dad, whom she has never known, is a mob boss and his enemies are threatening to hurt HER to keep him in line? He didn't even know about her!. But, once you get into the book, I could NOT put it down. There is suspense, cute animals, and hot, protective boys! Seriously, you can't go wrong. There had better be a 2nd book though-I am NOT okay with the pseudo-cliff hanger!
Seriously though, this book was great! Stick through the beginning while the author has to set up the story and you will be rewarded with a great story! I am so glad I picked up this book!

LJ has created an amazing story about how life changes and to keep your attitude positive... I am totally hooked and in love!!! Just going keep it to myself on which male has my heart!!!
The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended!! I loved it, and it definitely left me wanting more. Imogen is a breath of fresh air. She's funny, smart, and has a touch of sass. I love the way she handles her life being in danger and doesn't sit around sulking or crying. Of course, with two HOT men to protect you, I think I could remain distracted too!! A compassionate and sexy FBI agent or a hot and mysterious mafia man? I can't wait to find out who wins her heart. Awesome first release by LJ Voss. She will remain on my list of authors to watch for!
